چکیده

It is well-known that a strong longitudinal electric field and small spot size are observed when radially polarized beams tightly focused using high numerical aperture parabolic mirror. The component can accelerate electrons along the propagation axis at intensities in focal region, which opens an application particle acceleration. In this paper, we present rigorous derivation of obtained polarized, monochromatic, flat-top beam by formulae were deduced from Stratton–Chu integral known vector diffraction theory. We examined influence focusing parameters on distribution both radial components. short wavelength regimes, excellent agreement was found with results Rayleigh–Sommerfeld formula. calculation method be adapted for various types electromagnetic pulses as well.

Creation of Sub-diffraction Longitudinally Polarized Spot by Focusing Radially Polarized Light with Binary Phase Lens

The generation of a sub-diffraction longitudinally polarized spot is of great interest in various applications, such as optical tweezers, super-resolution microscopy, high-resolution Raman spectroscopy, and high-density optical data storage. Many theoretical investigations have been conducted into the tight focusing of a longitudinally polarized spot with high-numerical-aperture aplanatic lense...

Focusing characteristics of a 4π parabolic mirror light-matter interface

Background: Focusing with a 4π parabolic mirror allows for concentrating light from nearly the complete solid angle, whereas focusing with a single microscope objective limits the angle cone used for focusing to half solid angle at maximum. Increasing the solid angle by using deep parabolic mirrors comes at the cost of adding more complexity to the mirror’s fabrication process and might introdu...

Plasmonic focusing with a coaxial structure illuminated by radially polarized light.

We propose and analyze a plasmonic lens that is illuminated by a radially polarized light. The lens is made of a coax-like geometry consisting of an annular dielectric slit surrounded by metal. Focusing efficiency is enhanced by the use of a circular grating assisting the coupling of light into surface plasmons. Further enhancement is obtained by introducing a circular Bragg grating on top of t...

Focusing of spatially inhomogeneous partially coherent, partially polarized electromagnetic fields.

We report a general framework capable of describing the focusing of electromagnetic waves with spatially varying coherence and polarization properties in optical systems of arbitrary numerical aperture and Fresnel number. We also investigate the reduction of the dimensionality of the requisite integrals by use of a coherent mode expansion. We find that coherent mode expansions treating each com...

Experimental Measurement of the Generalized Stokes Parameters of a Radially Polarized Random Electromagnetic Beam

Utilizing the Young’s double slits and Mach-Zehnder interferometer, we proposed an experimental method to measure the generalized Stokes parameters of a radially polarized random electromagnetic beam. After the partially coherent beam propagating through the Young’s double slits, the interference fringe is obtained by the help of a Mach-Zehnder interferometer consisting of apertures, quarter-wa...
